Sweetly-scented yellow deciduous azalea. Deep reddish-orange autumn colour. Easily grown and good for naturalising. The most popular deciduous azalea species. it can seed around in mild wet west coast gardens.
1-2m+ x 1.2m+. H5-6. Most deciduous azaleas are very tough (H5-6) and wind/exposure tolerant. Cut back to keep them in bounds. Autumn colour. Deciduous azalea species have more subtle flowers than the hybrids and the flowers of the paler species are mostly scented. Relatively late flowering.
