A deciduous shrub with beautiful lily-of-the-valley-like flowers in July. Fine striped pinkish bark on mature plants. A really useful tough summer flowering shrub for woodland gardens with very fine patterned bark. Yellow autumn colour. Always attracts comments at Glendoick. Should be more widely grown.
